    Gaaahhhh!

I just had a look at how to remove the broken parts of the sunroof runner.

The roof lining has to come out (and all the door pillar trims and the seat belts), then the sunroof frame can be unbolted and removed, then the broken runner can be unscrewed from the frame!

I'd never order a car with a sunroof.

Oh, well, I suppose I can get the roof lining redone (it's sagging) and the pillar trims reflocked (the flock is coming off - a quite common problem with the P38A). There is a flocker in the same block of units as my local LR specialist.

Neither would I. Hot country and sunroofs don't go together. Not to mention the loss of headroom.

How much is reflocking? I know replacement trims are well in excess of $100 each.

How much did you get quoted for the heater core.
All 4x4 in Newcastle quoted $595 for the unit and $750 to install.
Ouch, that will be a while.
I have the unit bipassed at the moment.
The thing I do not understand is now the air con "auto" mod has one setting, make it freeze!!!
All i Think I did was bypass the heater core, so whey is it super chilling me!!
I keep reading your threads Ron, and I definately do not go check my rangie. I can't afford to fix it, so I don't wont to know whats wrong.

Keep with it, the P38 is a great vehicle (repeat 50 times a day looking in the mirror)

PS, is there a way to lock the centre diff in high range? Be good for soft sand dunes, I had to use 4 low in some soft stuff.

I think the A/C compressor is always running and the temperature control is effected by blending warm air and cold air together. With no heater operational, there is no warm air to blend, therefore freezing cold is all you get.

That sounds cheap. Book time is 8.00hrs labour alone !!

The climate control needs to use both A/C & the heater to set the temperature.

Waz in regards to a P38 just think of the positives

You may need a jumper on a 40degree day, but at least the beers cold, plus you save money on a fridge

The guys said it takes 12 hours, gives a charge rate of $62.50! But I did pressure a bit due to a booking stuff up they did. Or if it is 8 hours, gives 93.75 per hour, less incidentals

Pity the bank balance will not suppot the unit, so sounds like cold toes for winter.

Sorry, my mistake. I thought the $750 quote was to supply & install .

Oh, and I can beat the price of the heater core by $100 or more.
