    Changing my Front springs...NEED HELP

Howdy, I am currently trying to change my front springs in my 86 Rangie, but I have hit a snag

I cant seem to undo the top shock mount, I turn it and even holding the thread with another spanner it still wont budge...any ideas?

I have jacked the diff up about 1.5" to take the weight but still no joy

Any tips would be most helpful

If you undo the bottom shock mount and the four nuts that hold the shock tower in you can remove the complete assembly. Then take the shock out of the tower if required.

The bottom shock mount does the same thing, i can barley fit a spanner in there

How high would you jack the diff up?

To remove the shockers you don't have to jack the diff up at all. To remove the springs, once the shock is out you have to jack the BODY up and leave the diff where it is. Then the spring can be removed.

Jacking up the car wont do anything, rattlegun or apply heat to expand the nut - or if you are fitting new shocks, grind the f..ker off.
Pipe wrench on the shock body/ splash guard usually works too.

    Hi,
While jacking up the body just keep an eye on the brake lines, they don't stretch

Give it a spray with WD - 40 might give it what it needs if some spay works in under the nut.

Never have amanaged to get a front shock of and able to use it again. So when ever i am changing the front springs always replace the shocks anyway
