Carby cleaner is a bit harsh isn't it? I haven't done it but I think a wipe over with a baby wipe would be a bit kinder.

    Yikes!!!
How would you get a baby wipe into the sampling hole?
The thing to use is no residue electronic parts cleaner available from Jaycar. I believe it is CO2.
Just spray into the little hole until you see 2 shiny wires emerge from the gloom. Then shake it around to let the fluid out and let it dry completely, which isn't long.
I presume you mean a 3.9 with a MAF and not a flapper.

I've always used metho on various vehicle types (Toyo, Nissan, LR). Just get a largish container, I usually steal wife's tupperware when she's not looking, fill it with metho and totally immerse the MAF for a few minutes. Shake it out and let it dry.
