These work out at $1,000.00 plus shipping from the UK -
I would have thought that $3,500.00 fitted would be on the okay to expensive side.
Okay unfortunately my transfer has been cooked so need a replacement... it is in a '96 fender running 33's (thinking maybe going 35's).
What advice can you offer... as with most, I am strapped for cash... currently been quoted 3500 installed for a new one (supposedly) but a bit wary as the price seems too cheap.
Any suggestions on what i can do cheaply (but still strong) to help with ratios etc for better low & high?

For $3500, you could fit the 'rock crawler' 30% reduction gear set from Maxi-Drive at about $1600+GST and the rest of the required bits and labour would work out at around that maybe less if you wheel and deal with the parts.
Basic LT230 rebuild should set you back around the $1.5 mark unless yours is in a real bad way.

I assume you had Rick quote you on the transfer. I know a bloke when I was in the Range Rover club who did them for a good price but he only does them for RRC members unfortunatley.
MR at Redcliffe would be worth a try. They sometimes have them on the shelf ready to go![]()
