Are 3.5 and 4.4 The Same?

As most of you know i'm new to Range Rovers,
I need to replace the Rocket Cover, Sump and intake Gaskets, When i rang REPCO They could not find any listings, My question is are they the same as a 3.5 rover motor?????? I heard some say this once and am not sure.

    Thanks Tim.

Yep, pretty sure all are the same. The only major difference i can think of at the moment regarding seals is the valley cover because of the wider V of the 4.4.

Yep all preaty much the same except for the valley gaskets the best way to seal it up is with no gaskets and use dana grip black silicone gasket maker from supercrap about 10 bucks for a tube that goes in a silicone gun enough to do all ya gaskets ...

If useing this method alow the stuff to dry a bit before assembly cause if you put it together wet it will be a rite bitch to disasemble in the future i used this stuff on my 4.4 and it works a treat and heaps cheaper than a gasket set ..

    Cheers

    Go figure.
It took them about an half hour to figure it out.
But very happy, i thought my motor was out of a P76, but its out of a terrier??
does anyone know the history of converisions in aust as my seems to be factory or very close to.

The Leyland P76 and the Leyland Terrier 3-5 ton truck motors are the same they all use the basic Rover 3.5 Aluminium Block

Here is the details of the P76 club "Australian P76 Owners Club" Qld Branch, the man that I know is Mr Graham Rogerson on (07)3888-1345 if he is not the Club Spare PartsCo-Ordinator he will know how to contact.

Hope that is of some help

    cheers

Smear vaseline, or oil on the gasket face of the cylinder head and you will disassemble with ease.
