Crump I think you are talking about the Plug at the front drivers side of the rocker cover.

    Hi Crump
Thats it,the main loom plugs into the front of the head, the other end plugs into the ECU.
Thats why a new loom is so expensive to buy and also to fit,it goes averywhere.

Sorry but the injector loom is not part of the main loom, it shares the same conduit but it isn't actually connected, until the connector on the ECM (connector 0158)

New injector loom less than $150

so the bit that comes out of the rocker cover is a one piece unit that goes all the way to the ECU under the seat? It appears to join in to the main harness under the inlet manifold, but there is no connector there, is that what your telling me??

Steve the injector harness will be 'rapped' up with the injector.

.................but having never separated one from the other, I am not sure what the task is like.

It may just be easier, if you are looking to do 'the mod' is to put the box under the seat near the ecm.

Save you trying to strip out the whole lot.

Maybe Dave (BLk.Knight) may know, I'll send him a pm

    Hi Crump
The injector harness is inside the motor, the plug is at the front left of the motor as you have discovered. The main harness is the complete harness that wires the whole engine bay, part of which plugs into the connector on the head.
Ladas' box will need to be installed at the head to be any good,it wont really help at the ECU end,the oil travells thru the complete harmess causing "miss information" to the ECU via changed electrical values, the oil HAS to stop at the head or the same problem will continue even if stopped at the ECU plug end.I belive the oil causes the "miss information" at all electrical connections in the main harness, not just the ECU connector.

from the loom diagram (and a quick eyeball at big red..)

the electrickery part of it is seperate..( as in it doesnt **** fart around all over the vehicle to get to the plug on the head) but it is wrapped up in one big chunk...(other harness parts run close and are wrapped up with it all)

The best place I can see to put ladas's mod (depending on the size of the box) would be up near the plug on the bottom front of the head under the EGR control diaprhagm (from memory).

Big red will be getting a pre trip to brisvagas inspection and service in the next 2 days, I will have a closer look then.

yeh, I'm not explaining myself well as I know nothing, the plug out of the rocker cover joins the main harness somewhere I assume, what I'm trying to ascertain is how far the oil has already travelled. Is there a connector from the wires out of the rocker somewhere before the ECU as if that connection is oil free I have some idea of how far its travelled???
