Its a Land Rover

All defenders leak into the footwells. More useually (i have found) the passenger footwell gets the most. My dad had serval 110 over the years , 1984 one , 1991 , 1995, 1997, 1999, All of them leaked water in the same place. Not to my dads surprise but his brother could not belive over the age of the trucks that they all leaked water in the same place
Funny enough opur 90 was a van when we bought it and putting the soft top on stopped alot of the leaks but it still leaves you the presant of a puddle in the passenger footwell after heavy rain.

Plus the fact its more than liky not your windscreen but the front flaps

Also went around the land rover factory about 5 years ago. We were taken to the new 10 million pound machine that checked for leaks in Land Rovers cars. My dad looked at the bloke taking us around and said. You dohn't tell me you put the defender though that do you.
The bloke laughed and said "nah we not stupid we don't need a 10 million pound machine to tell us the defenders leak we know they leak like a sive already". And that was Land Rovers view on it

the one I like is when its ****ing down and it runs down the liner above the door and the wind blows it onto your shirt sleeve, passenger as well.

How else would you clean the footwell mats if it didn't rain on them occasionally?!?!

just be aware that if you have that foam backed floor matting the damp seems to stay in it, I flip mine over and park it in the sun for a day.

i found my leak on the pass side during sydneys wet.
the bezel/bracket that bolts the wind screen frame to the vent cowel was leaking . there are 3 bolts on the inside of mine the bracket on the outside was supposed to have a gasket on the top part... didnt.... so water was getting behind via the top bolt it and onto wifeys foot. pulled it apart yesterday and added a few blobs of sikaflex. not even the pressure cleaner gets threw now!

After several years trying to find where the water was getting in on my County, I found the same thing - the County has a hinge there, later hard top or wagon 110s have a fixed bracket but the same applies. They are a die casting which has three screws tapped into it through the windscreen frame and the top part of the firewall. The gasket under it has a very small sealing area - in my case it just had a slight crease on one side, the other side was slightly displaced. Both were leaking along the bolts. Because it is a high pressure area when driving, it does not take much of a leak to get a lot of water in.

Since my last windscreen replacement, I get a leak round the glass when driving fast in very heavy rain - I really should have put in a new rubber seal!

There is a Land Rover factory leak repair manual online, via the Estonian LR Club, in German. It does have pictures, though, so not too hard to follow.

I never drive the Stage 1 in the rain unless I'm wearing boots or in summer reef sandels.
