Thread: Help needed on clutch for 110

Not sure, never having had anything to do with the V8, but I suspect the collar that pushes the release bearing is different, and if you have this mixed up could cause the problem. But I can't say whether the pushrod is the same either.

The slave cylinders and the pushrods are same between V8 and Izusu. The difference lies in the clutch bearing housing as it is longer. If used V8 one then this is your problem.

Your right. After reading this I rang BMI and they confirmed that it is a different bearing with a metal rear extension built on. Nil stock at present. Many thanks everyone,

When I changed my county from V8 to isuzu I am fairly sure that the pushrod on the isuzu was much much longer than the V8 one but the slave cylinders were the same. I just looked it up in a parts catalogue and they have a different listing for V8 and isuzu pushrod to LT95. I know others have said they were the same but I was fairly sure they were different. The thrust bearings were also different as you have discovered.

Having just converted to a LT95, I will confirm that the pushrod is longer and the throwout bearing has that spacer collar which sits behind the release bearing on the carrier. I'm putting a clutch in a 110 tomorrow, so I can measure up the collar for you if you like, When I bought mine it looked like a local machine shop had just 'knocked' it up on the lathe. I can measure the pushrod too and let you know if it helps.

I would appreciate a measurement of the push rod just to be sure I have the correct one. I rang BMI and was told they are the same part number.
I found my old release bearing ( thought I had binned it) for comparison. In my LandRover Isuzu book it mentions something about pressing on a new bearing.
I have one on order already, the army still uses these so stock can still be found.
