    castor correction bushes

don't think I'm going down this path, just more interested in a couple of things to do with them.....

was reading about those castor correction bushes the other day, but couldn't see how you go about setting them up properly, how is it done ?

also read that they shouldn't really be installed in a AUTO disco, because it cause driveline vibration, is this true ?

I was told that the correction bushes for the D2 would cause vibration manual or auto, i was recommended to go with extended raidius arms instead and adjustable panhead rod.

Doesn't give you vibration and brings the diff back to the correct position and also changes the pinion angle.

Cause as we all know when you lift a vehicle it shortens the wheelbase.

Go to discoweb.org they lift D1s 4" and 5" on that site and i'm pretty sure they do vibrate and worse than the D2 from what i've read.

Rovertym have a castor correction swivel ball kit and extended radius arms too for D1s.

    Cheers Baz.

When arb put a 2" lift on the 90 they were doing the hard sell on me to have these fitted to the 90. I said no as i had had serveral 90's and rangies with 2" lifts but not had the caster correction bushes fitted. And never found them any differant to drive or cause any problems by the 2" lift
If i was you i would not bother.

They come with instructions, but in a nutshell you have to mark on the radius arm directly under the centre of one of the locating bolts. The first bush then is fitted with the offset hole closest to that point. They then give you a measurement to fit the other bush with the hole "up the other way", if that makes sense.

slotting the swivel ball bolt holes is the best way to correct castor as the pinion angle remains unchanged. Can be done on a mill with a radius plate, or a few companies have a jig. IIRC, LRA sell change over ones.
