Ultrasonic alarm sensor in Disco 2

    Hi
I have just added a ultrasonic sensor to my D2. Some cars I have seen have two, however I have installed just the one over the passengers head.
Does the stealer need to use testbook etc. to tell the alarm computer to now use the ultrasonic sensor? I couldn't get the alarm to go off just by waving/ making noise etc in front of the ultrasonic sensor.

    Cheers

Where did you wire the sensor to?

Yes, there are connectors on each sensor (front and back) four connections on each, one earth, the other three wire back to the BCU in parallel

When I installed the ultrasonic sensor, I removed the 'blanking' plate. Then it was a matter to just feel around a little bit and lo and behold I found the necessary wire loom to connect to the sensor.
    Cheers Chris

Okay - then they might not function unless both are fitted - from the wiring - they are connected in parallel.

You might want to check the body control unit - which should be behind the LH side facia - for the connector C0063 to see if the connections/wires into pins 6 (white/black wire) and pin 8 (slate/purple wire)

There are 12 pins on the connector.

It was an ebay item, cost around $20.
Since I did not have any form of interior protection for the alarm, I thought I'd give it a go.
I know its correct since the wiring is compatible.
    Cheers

Would be good if you could isolate the ultrasonics for when you would like to leave the windows open. Might have a read of the RAVE CD...
