    Fan Belt Spares

    Hi All,

I noticed on another thread a good idea to carry a spare belt Dayco 8PK1560 and moify to a 7PK1560 if you have a ACE pump problem and need to remove the pump on the track.

It made me think I should also carry a spare normal belt. I had a quick look on the Rave CD what the belts are on a TD5 Disco but could not find.

As the car is not here could some one advise what the belts required to carry a spare set for a TD5 series 2 Discovery are with ACE?

    Thanks
    Piddler

    Mine takes a 7PK1870.
There's a possibility that the idler pulley diameter on TD5's might not all be the same size. Mine is 70mm and the belt is a snug fit, so it might not fit with an 80mm idler pulley. The shorter ACE-bypass belt length of 1560 would still fit with an 80mm idler pulley.

To easily change the drive belt you need the correct spanners to remove the fan and a 15mm socket on a long bar to get to the tensioner pulley. You can get these from Troutbecksales.com (AU) or from Difflock.com (UK).

Ditto but mines a Kincrome I found it a lot easier with the 35cm breaker bar though than a shorter extension
