You must be thinking of some other Rochester carburettor. The Quadrajet has a relatively small centrally located bowl which has given few problems with regard to angles of inclination and has been used very successfully in off-road racing. In cases of very severe angularity there are a couple of simple modifications which can be made. (1) fit the plastic float bowl insert, a standard Rochester part, and (2) according to application, either extend the vents by a 1/2", or put a 45 degree angle on the rear vent.
