Sloshing from aircon on defender 98

Did a search and someone suggested putting a separate hose for each outlet.Has anyone tried it and does it solve the problem? Have tried blowing with air but only fixed it for a day or so.Don't like water and wiring getting to friendly!

    Me too

Would be interested to hear more about this. I have a 2000 Defender, and the air con make sloshing sounds when turning corners and dribbles water into the passenger footwell. Pumps out cold air though.

If its the same setup as my 98 disco, it means you have to clean the air conditioning drains under the vehicle with a coat hanger wire, but watch out for water when you poke it up.

Clean out the drains from underneath the car with a pipecleaner, long plastic cable tie or something similar, then spray something like wd 40 up the drain tubes - this will help them from getting blocked

Even better, replace the drain pipes with nice big fat ones. Takes big stuff to block them then.

    Shorty.

Do you mean a separate drain for each side?Rather than ths two into a T piece as standard?

My drains are not blocked, but I still get the sloshing and overflow on the floor and the rest. Love to know if anyone has further solutions or has pulled the whole unit apart. I had a look the other week and just didn't have the commitment to drill out rivets and stuff.

    Cheers

My drains don't appear to be blocked. The must be a build up of rubbish in the unit.Is it a big task to remove and clean.Any one got a pic of the unit out of the vehicle?
    Thanks

My td 5 also gets water sloshing around the fan area. It still does it with the hoses off. Not sure if the gunk they use to plug up gaps has got into the holes through the steel below the fan. Might try to ream it out with something.

    The quick fix?

Put it out with the hard rubbish.

The vents are there for a reason.
