D1 D2, the regulators are pretty much the same, ( someone correct me if i got wrong)
Most know that sound, i have been through it 4 times on both sides, crack and nothing, the toothed semicircle section that the electric motor moves , that is attached to the scissor mechanism, aka the window regulator.

Is joined by three spot welds, guess what, they break, add to that the rollers on the channel break away changing the lift angle. (Sounds technical ,) all over the world, even in the Falkland Islands ( I know because I asked when i was over there)
The cure if you are confident take it out re-align it drill through the welds and weld again. I had done both the passenger side and drivers side fronts twice, andthey kept on breaking. used both stick and mig to no avail
So I bit the bullet and bought new ones, the rollers on the newer ones are actually square blocks and the welds appear better.
Where ? the Brisbane mob i got my last one from, brit off road $125.

Removal of the old one is easy, when you have done it a couple of times.
One screw, about 5 bolts and an electrical connection to undo. the bottom channel bolts to loosen As well as removal the door trim.

thats my play on the description of your problem.

ps, I don't recall seeing a section in the rave for the removal.

just noticed the Bultaco logo, if you can work on one of those, you can do the regulator.
I remember years ago, a lot of blokes around my area (maroubra) rode Bultaco 125, wombat combats,, good choice the wombats were a local footy side.

Thank you everyone. I am on it with the philip head soon.

Yep, 1976 Sherpa T. Trials bike and it's a bomb. Mismatched numbers are making me sad.

And that link to Dave's site is DEAD!

    Cheers.

    pretty good responses so far,
at least my guess on the number of bolts to remove were right, by counting the no's on the rave page, except I noticed there is mention of the screw holding the plastic 'buffer' that sits in the middle of the back end of the bottom channel,
Once you have undone all the bolts you need to hold the window up, and the easiest way is to tape it to the door frame.
The regulator mechanism you fold down, and slide it forward , remove from the big hole at the bottom.

A sherpa trials nice bike, too bad about the no's, the old bultacos always remnd me of the early victa lawnmower engines, sitting upright.

    Thanks.

I hope this isn't the beginning of the end for my clear run of a reliable Disco.

Can't ride the Bully to work!
