Thumbs up Rotary diesel vacuum pump from the USA

    Hi Guys.

I posted this elswhere as answer to a query about how to power a brake booster on an older LR diesel. I thought that this might be a usefull enough link to post a new thread. A mob called miamiambulance.com stock Delphi E-Series oil-less rotary vacuum pumps at USD110.88 plus postage. With a suitable pulley and a home made bracket these will belt drive off anything and solve the problem of how to supply vacuum to the brake booster on oldies. They are original equipment on the 1997-2000 Ford Powerstroke 7.3L diesels used in ambulances. The postage is quite cheap and mine arrived in a couple of days.

you can buy a few alternators with the vac pump built into the rear
the jap trucks have them on some of the smaller models

    Wink 110 Isuzu alternator

Isuzu County alternator: Hitachi 120AMP (ALT6052) available from AME, it's off a Holden Jackaroo (Isuzu) 3.1 TDI. Internal regulator, vacuum pump, and the round four pin plug goes straight in. Slight modification required to the bracket arm.
