Yes, that's me. Thanks for the post, Ron (I bought my 4.0 on your recommendation a few years ago, when you allayed my fears about reliability... 3 airbags, 1 accumulator & 1 short motor later,... thankyou LR warranty!).

I've located a pair from Triumph Rover spares in S.A.; they want $200 for them! Talk about being held hostage. What do you think, should I get them? If I can't find an alternative solution, I have a very expensive garage wall ornament. Would look good, though...

I know where there are a couple of sets of Brackets, Ring John Manns British car sales in West Melb. He has the Bar and the Brackets. He may sell you a set

But I suppose if you had to get them made, even if you had a pattern, they wouldn't be cheap.

Any accesories for P38's are bloody hard to find, I've been looking for some stuff for ages. I would bite the bullet and buy em real quick.

Done it... ouch, it hurt. They were none too friendly, either.
I'm consoling myself with the fact that the bar set was fairly cheap. Last time I asked, Mann's wanted $1000 for a complete bar set; when the shouting's over mine will have cost $712. Not too bad I suppose, though what I really want is the winch mount...

hey at least Ron shared your pain with his own P38 problems or does that merely mean Ron spoke too soon for his own good

Here's a tip for you, before you fit them take a few photos, and measurements, so that you are able to fabricate some, or if you have a friend that is in the metal trade, as then you maybe able to recoop your costs and other forumites will have a parts source
