    D1 Tdi300 Header tank

    Hi,
Has anyone sourced a metal header tank with a conventional radiator cap & fitting? Or should I wash my mouth out suggesting non original fittings. It would seem like a good idear to me, to be able to test the cap & the system with a conventional tester. It was just a thought as the plastic one doesn't appear to be too reliable. .
    Michael.

Most rangie ones are metal but they are a much smaller capacity than the disco ones, afik the clear tank is the one to get.

I've got a 86 Rangie with a metal one and i have had it fixed a couple of times the seam at the bottom of the tank split then just today had a split from the metal pipe for the return hose from the radiator but i suppose it nearly 20 years old.

Murray at Jag and Rover was going to get stainless ones made like the ones he has for Jags, but he decided that the new plastic ones were so cheap it was't worth the trouble. Just make sure you get white tank.

    Thanks for this information.
Could anyone suggest somewhere in Sydney or on the net where I could get a white header tank. My supplier only carries a brown one.
    Thanks again,
    Michael.

Brown? Or do you mean black?

Where you located - where is 50km NW of Sydney? I noticed in an article in yesterday's Sydney Daily TerrorGraf that they put St Marys in NW Sydney That means our land values will now go up.

KLR Automotive at Kingswood (Penrith) stock the white ones.

I don't know if the LR parts importer, BMI, at Mulgrave sell direct to the public.
