    S3 Chassis ?

I have a SWB S3 and forgot to take some measurements before i took the body off so was wondering if any one could tell me how far the chassis hangs below the body/sills under the cab i got a rough measurement of 60mm but i dont think that is right any help would be much appreciated. Thanks JAKE

I need the measurement to work out how much i have to cut off the bottom of the chassis so the sill panel will sit flat on the ground my LR is V8 2wd and air bagged so i guess its still classed as ground clearance.

Jake, if it is any help, I just went out to the shed and measured my S3 109. She measures exactly 5 inch or 125 mm from sills to chassis bottom. This was measured at the rear of the fuel tanks both sides. The floor is some 150 mm above the chassis rails.

Thanks Shorty that sounds a bit better than 60mm was that from the under side of the sill or top and i thought the floor sat on the chassis

Used an engineers sliding square from the very bottom edge of the sill. I held the rule end, against the sill, and slid the square up until it touched the bottom of the chassis rail. If your body sits on the chassis rails, maybe I have a lift kit under the old girl. But, it looks standard, with the body bolted to riser plates attached to the chassis. Maybe JDNSW, or good old Unca Ho can help there. I'm new to the Landy, having owned my S3 for only 3 months. Glad to help anywhere I can.

    Shorty.

    Shorty.
I don't have an S3 88, and I know the 88 has a shallower chassis than the 109 - but measuring the distance on the S2 88 I have and the sill on the S3 109, I make the chassis on the 88 95mm below the sills.
