he should be able to use the tune up machine for that........
or a good set of multi meters with a heavy shunt designed for this sort of thing.........

Electrician toy. An ampmeter that has a spring loaded opening clamp. Used to check amperage draw on, in my experience, heavy industrial electrical gear. Can also be used on domestic and auto, but, fiddly. The clamp part is opened and placed around the wire to be tested and allowed to close, it then reads the electron flow in the wire. Fiddly, because the ones I am used to, are not small.
Still works just like the hard wired ampmeter on your dash, but is portable for trouble shooting, and service work.
Shorty.
I'll be watching this very closely indeed. Wanted to rig up on board air but with the v8 using a serpentine belt it was making my brain hurt. Have a surplus A/C comp & have a brand new starter in the shed I bought for Ma's old laser & never fitted (the car is now gone). What's the cheapo solution for a tank?
goody goody.![]()
you could fit a second pulley on one of the other pulleys......and run a belt to the compressor off that........
a cheapo tank is an old lpg bottle......come in all shapes and sizes......
or go to your nearest truck wreckers and get an airtank off a truck......
or use the bull bar frame.....or your rock sliders........lots of options......
A clamp meter

latest test.
12seconds to fill an 8L gas cylinder to 110psi.
that compressed 8L filled a flat 195 75 R14 to 22psi.
clamp meter will be here 2morra.
as for a tank, the 90 is short on space so atmo it looks like i'll have to custom make a tank to suit the space i have. something like 2 lengths of 6'' pipe bout 500mm long, around 20L by volume.
cheers phil
ZOIKS! That's enough to power a gattling potato gun! Awesome.12seconds to fill an 8L gas cylinder to 110psi.
isnt this called a "mega" - short for megaohm or something like that
