    Bilsteins/Kings

I have just booked the Fender in for the full suspension upgrade, Bilsteins all round and King springs, and a Billie steering damper, 30mm lift.Around the $1400 mark fitted, so am I right or just wasting dollars for pretty coloured suspension?

I don't know how the Defender goes with Billies & Kings but my Rangie loves the combination.

I only have standard spec Kings in the rear though (no lift) & standard length dampers.

I've got Koni's and Kings with the Bilstien SD. Put it on about 4 months ago.

SD is excellent quality. Very happy with the Koni's

As for the Kings, I'm happy with them but I must admit they are very stiff and you loose some articulation. That said, my setup is great on corrugated roads and that's half the trip some times. Had a 470km workout (all on dirt tracks and off road) last Saturday and no fade at all.

Don't know about $1400 I paid about $1100 for all this and if I'd gone Bilstien all round it would have added less than $100.

i got my 2" lift from the uk

the springs are yellow hd brit part and the shocks where procomp es 9000's longreach that cost me £240 which worked out with the exchange rate just a smidge over $500

i also got my return to centre tough dog steering damper for about $165

so i got my damper and lift for $665 and fitted it our selves which makes it all a hell of a lot cheaper 0.00

Not sure if it fits or if it is too late but I am just about to replace my King spring Bilstien shock 40mm set up on my D2 which has been on for only about 2000 k's (put on just before Christmas 06). I'm going taller, so if it fits yours, then there's a chance to pick up some cheap gear for yourself.

PM me for more info if interested.

Aside from that, fairly happy with the set up although will now look to go softer.
