Things can be failing & you don't really notice!!.
Hi.
Had a new clutch master cyl. fitted to the fender today, and what a difference!!!, the old one packed it in not leaking but by passing fluid.
Dunno if anyone has experienced the same symptons?, but mine was ok until i held the pedal down to long, like in a line of traffic & low & behold she"soff again with the clutch pedal pressed to the floor
Scary
for me & the poor dude in front!!!. Its so much smoother now on take off, not so many clunks as the system is now controlled like it shoud be,
beautiful smooth gearbox , driveline, diff, etc, Ya reckon this willl last more than a week?
Cheers Sumo.

Yeah, did the same thing six weeks ago or so. Best $50 I ever spent on the Defender.
It's still good, except the irritating squeak has come back.
Suspiciously enough I'm noticing that the squeaking only happens around or after rain.
You don't think the Defender leaks, do you?

Cheers
Simon.

What symptoms to do you get before the fender lurches into traffic!???
... bugger that'll be the next thing. Is it just a simple case of getting it replaced while it's in for its next service?
Cheers

Yep, same thing at around the 3000km mark. One day good, next day at the lights started creeping couldent put the left boot down any harder. So the right one planted the brake so I could stall her. Land Rover is shepperton were very good, warrenty job at the same time they gassed the air con as it haddent been done at all. No clutch dramas since now at 85 000km.

thats pretty standard for a fender.....it should last you around 20,000kms......
and pressing the brake is still not enough to stall a Td5.....you need to be quick and shut the thing down........
with load on the clutch you cant even pull it out of gear......
yes...i have been there and done that.......
twice...!!
and am just about due for the third.......
