Hmmmm, interesting thread. My Disco does all this too. I've had the TC out twice (the second time was because I couldn't handle the amount of oil it leaked after the first time) Input gear and output shaft were fine, had the front axles out and the splines look fine. I've gotten pretty good at the "clunkless driving" technique.

Disco Fever
Hi All,this is my first post and I my intro is that I have had Disco fever......My 1995 Disco 300Tdi Auto is still going strong 350,000 Klms on the clock,engine uses no oil between oil changes.Had the auto rebuilt at 300,000, worn out input shaft, but what a run for an auto towed a 2200kg van.
Gave Disco to my son and have now got 2007 Defender and wow what a beauty.Our family company back in the 70,s sold and serviced Land Rovers and they were our work vehicles.This Defender is such a step up from the old series 2,s.
Any way you would not be on this forum if you had not caught the bug eh???????Ha Ha
