    Idling high

This week I had the heads fully serviced and whilst doing that I basically clean out all hoses and stepper, MAF etc... Started it up today and no worries, except for my idle, it sits at 1000rpm. I've checked the timing, which is all good, and had a thorough look over the engine for leaks etc, but all ok. Is it to do with the Base Idle Screw because I have clean out the engine/parts etc? Or do i have to let the ECU do its magic for a few days? Any help would be great...

    Cheers

At some stage the base idle screw may have been adjusted to bring the idle speed up, when cleaning the idle control motor would have sorted the problem. You may have to reset base idle.

I came across this once in a fuel injected 4 cylinder Magna. Some clown had wound the throttle stop screw to keep it idling. I cleaned the throttle body (full of gunk) and it idled at 2000 rpm . Quick throttle stop reset and it was all good.
