This is one of those difficult ones to answer as you could do with listening for yourself but from the description, it's probably just wear on the drive train. There's always going to be some 'clonk', on an auto, when going from neutral into a gear as it'll just be taking up the slack.
What's excessive?

looks like ill look into getting a good gas set up soon, did think about putting a diesel in when the block went but now the new engines done about 8k i reckon its just about right for the gas!!!
