Pretty much most of it. depends how old the rangie is. The diffs and shafts could be differant. But only in the way of 10 or 24 spline shafts
What is compatible from a rangie to a D1 ??
I have the oppurtunity to get hold of an old rangie full of toys ????
Are axles, diff's, t/case etc usable in a D1 ???

As above, depends on the year model of the Rangie. Older 4 speed stuff won't have so much useful gear, later stuff is essentially the same.
Ok guys, sorry to revisit this...
But I have more info on the rangie, it is a 79 model with maxi drive lockers & axles.... will they be compatible to fit into my 8/93 D1 ?????
If I can't pull them out & put them into mine, would it be a straight swap to remove the whole diff, housings & all & just swap them wholes bowlis with out modifying anything ???
It also has reduction gears in the transfer, but I think they have the gearbox/t/case that is all in 1, as oppose to the separate style I have in mine ??
Thanks in advance again guys ???
Anything is possible, but not everything is practical.
The gearbox will be the 4-speed. Someone will want one with crawlers, but it isn't a simple swap - better to sell it off IMHO.
I THINK the other stuff will swap in a fairly straightforward manner, you'll just need to check on the electrical side of things (does your D1 have ABS?)
I haven't done it, so I'll stop now and someone who has will chime in![]()

No my D1 has no abs...
The gear box isn't of great concern to me, if I can get the 2 lockers & axles under it, it will be a bargain on it's own...
Then I was just going to stick the standard unlocked ones, back under it & sell the whole thing on![]()
yes they will same axles anyway
I would swap them over personally
The only real differance is the range rover rear axle has the shocks mounted facing one back and one forward where as the Disco has the both facing forward. (like the later classic rangie has anyway) So because of this i would swap over the insides and leave the casings.
Go on just do it its just a mornings work

It's a bit more work, Reads. You might have missed the Maxi lockers - I gather this means at the least a hole in the diff pumpkin and a bracket welded on.
Touch wood the shockies can just swap, eh?

you will need to swap the radius arms/trailing rods as they are both different at the chasis end between the 79 and 93 models, and I think the panard rod is also different
