You probably wont move the rod much by hand, although leaning a long screwdriver on the wastegate lever and bumping it with my hand moved mine a little. As it opens at around 1 bar (14.7psi), it should quite easily be operated by using a compressor on the pressure line.

I've not had to free one, but I guess WD40 or similar would work.

I was going to put it on a dyno but was going to be quite a few $. I do have an EGT fitted and am about to fit boost gauge. Standard ECU brings my EGT back down slightly but with chip would get up there quick......nothing really to get worried about unless towing up hill in the wrong gear and then it would get up there.....but then so will a standard ECU.

    UPDATE:
Perhaps some good news or at least some hope - after another detailed conversation with BD earlier this week and after me saying I would not let him near my car again , he has very kindly offered to supply an updated ECU which has a newer program through it (he no longer sells the chip I have in mine). On from this, he has offered to replace my ECU or set it back to factory with a full refund if this newer chip does not work for me.....can't ask fairer than that so eager to see how the newer chip will perform against the old one.

Will update once I have done some real testing with the newer ECU.
