Funny how some interesting ideas come from Land Rover

Cuthbertson did it more than forty years ago for Land Rover and it looks like tracks will soon be on anything! Enjoy....

$20,000 to $50,000 US? I'll send em an email and ask how much for my Disco 1........

OMG I dont care if the missus would kill me or in fact how unpractical they would be, or that I would have to sell my children on the black market to buy them, damn do I want a set - for the mud up here in the top end they would be the ducks guts.

years ago a mate had a 8 wheeled thing like out of the bannana splits (for those of you old enough to remember), he put tracks on it and it was impossible to bog any where and it floated as well but only had a 2 cylinder air cooled motor.

That is the issue I have seen documented about this type of conversion in the past. I recall many years ago a test on a Rangie (I think) fitted with tracks up in the snow belt of Vic or NSW. Would have been in Overlander Magazine, or similar.

yeah okay if you live in snow country and you can put them on and leave them on over winter otherwise your going to have carry them in a trailer, drive to the mud and then put them on after jacking the car and removing the tyres lots of work for an afternoon of mud splashing and then you got the security issue of having your wheels stoeln from your trailer while your out playing.

Could have been the same ones I saw, I think they were from Cuthbertson?? in the UK they were fitted to a dark green Rangie in Asquith and Johnstones workshop, when they used to be in Planthurst road, Carlton NSW. Probably around 1985ish.

Could be, bearing in mind that in '85 I was 11 years old...

Now you're making me feel old.

Have to wait for the missus to come home so I can feel younger
