    D2 fuel regulator

Has anyone changed a fuel regulator on a D2 diesel and if so are there any things to be aware of? Mine's leaking big time....

Had mine done about 6 months ago. You cant buy any of the componentry...you have to buy a whole new regulator. I wouldnt replace it yourself...its a bit of bitch of a job and hard to get to. I left mine to my mechanic and sat back and watch him curse away...lol

I think it was about $280 or something for the part plus fitting (about 1 hour).

I changed mine and I have big hands!!!!
OK a tight spot but once the sound cover is off its better. The fuel lines just clip on,practice with the clip on the new one so you know how its done without damaging anything.
As in the other post,an hour from start to finish is about right.
Make sure you get the right one.
Early ones dont have a return to the front of the head,if yours is the early type get the upgraded regulator and matching gasket. The original and updates use different gaskets that WILL NOT MATCH.
Make sure you have the engine number when ordering,DONT buy it from a stealer, they will rip you off.Try a Landy specialist that advertise here or karcraft.com for better prices.

also take it to a car wash with the cover off and give it a good clean around the regulator as the smallest bit of dirt can damage a injector when every dealing with the modern fuel system with tighter tolerances clean around parts before pulling to bits
