Constructive comment to the whole forum....
Some people ask a question and get a bum steer.....
In this case there is mention of the bell housing ect being different...
YES, But the answer should be clearer....
If you want to convert your V8 disco with a LT77 currently in it to a R380 gearbox, then all you need is a R380 gearbox from a V8......
OK you will need the bellhousing with it, BUT who sells a gearbox with no bellhousing???
So your answer is simple......... The R380 with bellhousing will bolt straight up and be in the right position, the gear lever will come out the same hole and be in the same spot.
But make sure you get one from a V8 as the Diesel ones have a different bellhousing and different input shaft.
Your existing transfer case will bolt straight on to the R380
It will pay to get a Complete setup... ie, the Box with bellhousing attached and get them to throw in the clutch slave cylinder and the gearstick and any wires and breathers attached....
Hope this helps
