Have you tried unplugging the sensor under the bonnet and cleaning it. If the o-ring has gone bad at all it will let in dirt etc.
    Cheers

I know its an old story but is mine slightly different? I was getting tc, abs and brake warning light about once a week, turn off and on all ok, after about 2 months hdc light came on with other 3 now I need to get them reset. Is this the same old fault as everyone only talks about 3 lights and I have 4, or am I just lucky
    car is a 2004 td5 manual disco

The biggest problems that these vehicles seem to have in relation to the ABS is a shuttle (****tle) valve fault in the modulator. It is caused by sludge build up, and is normally a problem when the modulator is not used - ie no offroading, hill decent comming on or soccer mums using both legs to brake in slippery weather. If the ETC chatters away every few weeks it will activate the valves and circulate the fluid. I had mine go at about 50,000 and it required a shuttle valve fix - they did that and it came back at about 52000 so they replaced the modulator and it has not had one ounce of problems - now 110,000; but I make sure that I stir the ETC every few weeks and I change my brake fluid every 40,000 using a shop with an aftermarket version of Testbook that activates the modulator to get rid of the old stuff properly and bleed the new stuff in properly. I wouldnt be surprised if there are people with air in their systems that cause, amongst other things, poor ETC performance off road in low range, where the ETC is most agressive, because mine has been excellent, but some people have had less success.

    Cheers

Ultimate solution. Buy a County-Isuzu, no electronics, no rubber band, no turbocharger, no intercooler, no oil-in-the-harness, or water-in-the-accelerator pedal. Phuque-all to go wrong in the middle of nowhere or to go fizz in the night.

Mine gets used Off Road about once a month, has brake squeel, is rusty, and has about 70k on the clock and the three amigos came on yesterday, but a CTRL Alt Delete got rid of them..... For now.

I've never had a peep out of the warning lights until now!

    Should I expect the worst?

Sorry for the Hijack.. and what about my Question, what happens if you just remove the fuse? It's probably illegal actually!

None of my "electronic" vehicles have ever faulted...

Never had the 3 amigos and running Bendix on EBD rotors.... Have done for 30k

Lara had aftermarket rotors and pads from 2000km

    Disconnect ALL your connections...

    Clean them

    Spray with Lanox

    Reconnect...

    Do this EVERYWHERE

OK it's like mine, i'd have the brake warning light fault checked, this is usually a low fluid thing or air in the system and could actually be a fault, could even be a faulty sensor in the reservoir.

If you are being charged more than $50 for fault clearing you are being ripped off.

It is a good idea to flush and change the fluid in the ABS system and change the fluid in the clutch and brakes every 12 to 24mths.

DON'T GO TO A DEALER, unless you have plenty of money

    Baz.

PS. i agree totally with Tombraider, since i started cleaning everything i've had no 3 amigos.
