I always just pull out the Fuel Pump Fuse #6 [Blue] in the Engine Fuse Box.

Yes, i read that in my old Haynes manual, but is it safe just to remove the fuse?

I can't locate the relay for the life of me...

On mine it's the relay with a Blue base located behind the driver's footwell panel.

Yours 'may' be the same.

Start vehicle....
Pull fuse...
Vehicle stalls....
Turn off ignition...
Slowly crack fuel fitting at filter...

Easy as......
