    series 3'88 leaking steering box

    Thank-you all!!

Posted a question re leaking steering box in my old series and what to put in it. Several learned folk suggested Penrite Semi-fluid grease....ordered from the local Penrite mob, waited for 3 weeks, finally arrived at $5.30 per 500 mL container plus freight ...but it has worked a treat!!

Many thanks to all who responded....worth a million$$s this website...

So in order to celebrate not having to pull the steering box etc etc am 'kikking back' with a Coopers or two and celebrating the beginning of the 'Dry' in the beautiful Top-End of Australia...the South Easterlies have just arrived and the tracks are drying up....Think that I'm getting excited!!

    Happy Easter to all!!

    Worth the wait then.

Leaking Steering Relays can benefit by the use the same grease/oil as well.

NO!!!!!!.........the Disco uses ATF for top-ups and Power Steering Fluid Type G for a complete fill........P/S Box leaks are often fixed using Lucas [NOT Lucas electrics!!!] Power Steering Stop Leak.......works really well in all but seriously bad leaks!
