Open shock length of 630mm anyone?

Chasing ANY information on brand/manufacturer/part no./supplier etc etc for a rear shock with an open eye to eye length of 620-630mm........or as close to 630 as possible either way.

See my research today here http://www.aulro.com/afvb/showthread.php't=36576

Still waiting on some responses from some suppliers etc but hopefully someone on here will have either bought this length or have had some experience with one of similar length.

I am just going on my memory but I think the shocks I have in the Rangie are about that. I used the ridepro shock for Nissan patrol. (or were they longer........)

Mick G this is what you need if i assume your doing 3" or 4" lift on your D2.

    Nissan GQ R........620.....390.....230.....Eye / Eye

Pro-Comp make one thats close but if you can go for the 11" travel, the long travel Bilstein TO SUIT A D2 will also do for the rear of the D2 with a 3" or 4" lift too, for the front it must be as close as possible to the closing length of 390mm.

If you get the GQ/GU shocks for the rear you will need reducing bushes for the eyes to mount them to the D2 mounts.

Any more info you can PM me or Slunnie, probably slunnie as he has done a bit more in reguards to the correct lengths and valving of his shocks, he got Bilsteins for his lift front and rear.

Thanks Baz, i'm actually sticking with around a 2" or 40mm lift (may go higher down the track) but trying to gain more droop. Starting with the rears, I have pulled existing shocks off to see what sort of droop I might expect and I decided a shock of 630mm open would suit me just now.

For the fronts, I'm looking to fit around a 50mm lower shock tower to gain more travel (but can I find one that will suit a D2 with an eye fitting at the top ) After some experimenting, I managed to compress my front shock to 450mm however the shock will compress to 366mm with an open length of 575mm, so hoping a lower shock tower will give me more droop without having to change much else (other than perhaps break lines etc).

I'll be honset, bit confused by what you are saying about pro comps and long travel Bilsteins and closed lengths of 390mm, can you say that again.

Cheers for your help again and will keep you posted if I ever find any generic infor for a D2

If your only doing the 2" lift then the long travel Bilstein rear D2 Shock will fit the front top mount, but then you'll need a crosspin made for the bottom mount, or contact Heasmans in Sydney and ask them if they can take the long travel D2 front shock and modify the travel like they used to do for the rear D2 shocks, until the newer long travel shocks were introduced about 12 to 18 mths ago.

The new long travel rears for a D2 2" lift ARE good for a 3" to 3,1/2" lift.

I forgot too add, i have D1 top and bottom shock mounts on my D2.
