James with summer gone I had fixed a similar problem
firstly 90% chance is the fan 10" sucker...buy a generic 12" from supercheap and half problem solvered..
other half is nip into Natrad and have them professionally flush your radiator

then back as good as new.. I hope this helps

I had troubles once with slight overheating when spinifex seeds got in the condenser and radiator. But as soon as the gauge got over halfway the air conditioner would cut out but the condenser fan kept running. On return a visit to Natrad found the core corroded by locust guts. In short, the cooling system should cope.

James, I had the same problem with my 300Tdi Disco. I had the radiator checked and it was 1/3 blocked.
After rodding and new coolant, the problem went away.

    Thanks everyone

It does seem to suggest my cooling system is not quite up to scratch which is disappointing because I paid good money 10 months ago redoing the cooling system when the engine was out. This was ten months ago and the problem is not new.

Perhaps they did not do a recore, I'll go through my invoices...
