    Careful Adam

Gas aint what it used to be.

I had a 308 on straight gas, built it at 11.0:1 compression, went like a train.

Soon after gas was re-blended and octane dropped from 118 to around 102

Not good, the motor began to ping...

    Hi Walker,

    Regarding this question you asked:
"I wonder if you have any standing against LRA for supplying engines
which are less than what is stated in the manual and on all the
specs. I would imagine not but it is still annoying because I would
imagine that much difference in compression would cause a big loss in
    power and torque."

I remember a few years ago Mazda overquoted the power for the MX5. I don't remember what happened, why it happened, what was the exact result, but Wiki has this on it:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_Miata

Do a search for 'apology' and you'll see what Mazda did. I have no idea if this Wiki is accurate, but I know for a fact something did happen with the MX5 and quoted power.

    Pete

I would reckon if you can accurately prove the wrong engine is in your disco they should give you a new one. I dont think it would take a decent lawyer long to prove that case. If your model should have a certain compression engine and it has one with lower compression and this can be proved, given it also looks to have been ground back or something then i think you have a case.
