Not meaning to sound like a smart-**** Keith, but the explanation of the inertia switch and how to reset it is in the driver's handbook.
The same thing has happened to me in my Disco 1, :(

Normally you have to hit something pretty hard to set them off.
Andrew
a wedge tailed eagle doing a strafing run into the passangers side vent flap on a d110 extreme will do it...
Check out this thread - sounds a lot like the problem I was having in my Defender last year.

Turned out to be the main lead from the battery to the fuse box was dodgy - this was playing hell with the immobiliser/alarm/everything when it kept cutting in and out.
Thanks
but in this case all the electrics still worked, all the lights still on engine would crank over etc, only thing that didnt come on was glow plug light.
Thanks for all the advice
Cheers Keith
yep sounds like the immobiliser... my D1 does it also on very very hard bumps... they type i really should slow down for
If only I were going fast I would expect these things and except the fact that I was going to fast and maybe slow down, but 80km\h on a bitumen road is just silly
You're certainly not alone, it would seem.
Had the same thing happen to me with a rather LARGE bump up the Cape a few years ago in the Fender. ..:eek2::blush:
Same deal .. stop, turn off. Then all is well.
Cheers
