Very likely - that little less voltage drop all helps. The car uses a solenoid dual battery system and the lights were already wired up so I left them. In fact it wasn't until I tested them that it dawned on me that they were powered from the second battery.
Even though they are only 55w, they are noticibly brighter to look at than the headlights (I don't mean beam pattern, I mean looking directly at the lights. I guess the headlights need a wiring upgrade.

I've had a pair of Super Oscars since 1978, don't know how many vehicles they have been on. They're a great light & won't move or vibrate on a good mounting point once they are set up.
Many moons ago and i mean moons i was a news paper truck driver in country Vic Melbourne to Ballarat then warracknabeal and back through avoca. needless to say there is some big thumpers up there, now if your a greeny or an animal lover stop reading now!!!, i would hit and kill on average one roo a night some times 3 or 4 in one go:o. the ridiculously expensive head lights in the mack would either die on impact or shake loosely in the body till they died but the so called crappy narva lights lived on and some nights these were the only lights i had left:mad:, i drove that truck every night for 12 months and never replaced the narva driving lights:cool:! had to stop and re-aim lots though. and for the record they were stock standard maxim light set 1 broad and 1 pencil and were about 1MT off the ground in the dead centre (if you drive trucks were roos live you try and hit em dead centre they do less damage) of the tasman roo bar in a standard mount, so my vote is narva may not be the best light or the toughest but my experience tells me there OK and i use em on my beast.
PS. i do apologise if any one is upset about the roos i did try and miss them.
