    Mistery Part No PCS000010

PCS000010 Resistor MUST BE PURCHASED with PCC001070 Radiator Assembly TD5

This part is a mistery and i have not been able to see any reference to this resistor in the RAVE CD at all, even if you search using the part No it brings up a diagram of the cooling system and the parts in the cooling system except this part.

The fact that MUST BE PURCHASED is used and yet there is no mention of it in the info of the TD5 radiator page, it's only if you scroll down the page it says this.

    Cooling system link

    (eg) this link
    http://www.british4wd.com/xcart/prod...cat=177&page=1

    But this link,
    http://www.british4wd.com/xcart/prod...cat=177&page=1

I know it's just below but i missed it and if it wasn't for the fact that someone mentioned this resistor in a thread here, i would of not known about it and if something had gone wrong who's to blame, probably would me.

But what is strange is knowone knows where it goes, or where it is in the cooling system, i couldn't find it in the Rave CD, IT'S LISTED IN THE PARTS CATALOG, but not the workshop manual.

Anyone know where it is supposed to go or if it is needs to be replaced when replacing the new radiator.

    Cheers Baz.

Hmmm, I have no idea either ...... maybe the resistor goes in your wallet so you don't get tempted to buy the radiator assembly from a genuine Land Rover stealer. I'm sure they would charge heaps more .

is it an electrical resistor ?
might be used to dissipate stray current so your ally components don't corrode away to nothing.

    Baz

I have just checked ECP, and under that part number it comes up with

    restrictor - coolant

So it may seem that Alan has typed in the wrong info on the web site.

Yes, it's a restrictor that fits into the fuel cooler.
There can't be too much to it, list price is only $5.00.

The fuel cooler is what i looked at when replacing the radiator (among other things) as i couldn't get at the hose at the radiator end so i took the hose off from the fuel cooler end, but i couldn't see where it would go unless it goes in the end closest to the firewall.
