    leaking Disco heat exchanger

I averted a near overheating disaster recently when I suddenly lost all the coolant out of my Td5. The leak is apparently at the heat exchanger located under the inlet manifold. The Disco's not here (I live out of town) so I can't look at it. Has anyone ever struck this before?

there is a small hose that can split the heat from the turbo does'nt do it much good as well as the housing leaking which is not cheap to replace so cross your fingers it is the hose and you have to get the LR part as the hose is a different size at each end
disco seriesII mods so far:-bullbar,hyd winch,
detriot locker, lsd front,C.D.L kit, chipped and bigger intercooler,2" lift, rock sliders, lsd in transfer case, modified auto trans.

Exactly the same happened to me in Feb.

Mine was was coroded on the nipple at the rear where the short rubber hose is. It was perfect inside so the coolant is woring ok. I put it down a slight leak due to those stupid hose clamps LR insist on using, and where the collant comes into contact with air it starts coroding.

It cost me $2200 to get fixed by the dealer. As a result of the job they did it was also the last time the dealer will ever see my Disco again.

I still have the old one, and reckon with modification could use it again.
