    Rewiring Series LR's

Just wondering what products are available for rewiring. I have a Series IIa LandRover that I have stripped out, put a Rover V8 motor into and now need to do a total rewire on. I've recently installed the Traxide headlight wiring upgrade into my Disco2 and thought that it was a good bit of kit, but are there series Landrover rewire kits or anything that may help make the process a little easier for me in rewiring or perhaps a series of kits to do this, or is it better to just redo it manually?
    Cheers

I might be completely bonkers, but I am sure that I saw something / somewhere that supplied complete looms for new and Series LR's............

I'll have a hunt back in my data ..................but don't hold your breath

    Hi Slunnie

Holy crapola! The Mustang Sally site looks like some tech! I'll have to check out the looms site, which looks quite comprehensive and see what I can get from them.

    'Thanks for this fellas.

    Slunnie,

I rewired the old Turtle with a wiring harness from Vintage Wireing Harness mob on Central Coast. They do the real, old fashioned braided stuff. Full instructions were provided and all colours matched the original diagrams. One evening's work.

Thanks for that Turtles61. Its interesting as your site seems to provide the same looms as the one that Ladas posted, but they are 2 completely different websites.

    Another 2 questions here now.

I've got the Rover V8 in the IIa

Is the IIa loom different to the V8's due to any alternator differences or do they operate the same?

    and also

What is the difference between the military spec IIa loom and the civilian spec IIa loom that is available?
    Cheers

I would have thought you would need a charging and starting loom to suit the V8 from ign switch to starter motor, and from the alternator to the battery, and a SII loom for the rest of the car, with a few mods to take into account the ign light/charge indicator light.

I re-wired my old SIIA (many years ago) completely from scratch using just red wire, black wire and crimp terminals. After a small fire I even upgraded and put in some fuses.

I knew where every wire went but I bet the next owner was cursing me.

Ahh the things we do when young and stupid.
