You could always go for the industrial look and run conduit and clamps
    Especially for the Amp wire
Earth cable will be easy as it only needs to be short and next to the amp
Just run the speaker wire back up through the conduit for the 6x9s depending where you mount them
What sort of speakers amp and sub did you get?

Its a Defender, what ever sound system you put in is going to interfere with the engine noise

You can run a few cables down the channel between the top of the dash and the fuse box but its a bit tight. My iPod interface is put down there and the iPod sits in the centre console.

I'm adding a lot of wires to mine at the moment, and my plan is (As I'm adding soudproofing mats under the rubber carpet at the same time) to put the wires in a plastic split loom and hope it fits in a gap I'll leave between the soudproofing panels without showing as a bump through the rubber mats, and along the sides so they don't get trodden on all the time.

For the dash, I'm using a new centre console which not only gives me room for more gauges, switches, etc. but also means I can open up the route form the dash tray to the fusebox, and form there down to the batteries in the seat box without going under the car...hopefully.

Where are you sticking the amp? I was going to add one too, but through werever put it short of the read load area, it would be at risk from water. I'm still trying to work out where to put rear speakers!

I have a power outlet for a fridge in the back, so if you have the same, you could tap off this for amp power. If it were me i'd run all the wires under the floor in splitloom... signals seperate from power

Run the wires up high behind the roof moulding. Rear speakers above the rear side windows. Amp could be mounted to the side of sub enclosure for simplicity.

I'm going to mount the amp under the rear right hand seat and tap into the third battery for power, its just the rear speakers and wiring , I have a vinyl lining (which dont sag yet) over the moulding so it rules the roof out..more pondering me thinks..
