    Mickey Thompson MTZ

    Has anyone tried these out?

What are they like on and off road?

    Are they worth the money?

    Would you get them again?

Hi Dobbo,I have a set on mine after moving away from the coopers have done about 20 000K's so far mainly on highway and they seem good no worries in the corners and wet roads (when it rains) no real noise on the highway either and I have had no issues with them off road either.

As if they are worth the money hard to say yet depends on how many K's I get out of them but hopefully better then the coopers
disco seriesII mods so far:-bullbar,hyd winch,
detriot locker, lsd front,C.D.L kit, chipped and bigger intercooler,2" lift, rock sliders, lsd in transfer case, modified auto trans.

Ok so what is the wear like on them (guestimate)?

How are they on the freeway?

How do they handle wet conditions?

sorry about all the questions, but they are pretty pricey rubber

i have heard from a few people that use them.......nothing but praise......
they may cost a bit more than other brands.......but they swear by them.......

the last one to praise them was on the weekend just gone by.......by a farmer.....
these guys do lots of on and off road driving......going to town and back.....and on their properties..........
with lots of mud and dirt and rocks......etc.........

no one has said anything bad about them yet.........

For a mud their quiet on the highway and smooth...

Offroad for their class of tyre they eat everything else, I was totally impressed since fitting them.... I used to have claws!

In the wet, whilst it *could* be possible, I've never had them twitch and they are pretty darn good at resisting aquaplaning too...

I have as much (if not more) confidence in them in the wet...
IN the dry no issues either...

And with Powerply the turn in response is amazing.

Exellent on sand too.... (Lets just say - Big dune, high range and up and over backwards to peeve a Nissan owner off!)

    Oh yeah... Wear rate...

    Should easily make 60k

My old claws are still going on a Patrol (6 years later)
My FC-IIs are over 40,000 and still at 9mm tread.

The MTZs are 1mm wear after 10,000km.
