The ABS light can come on for a number of reasons:
    faulty sensor.
    loose connection.
    fault in the computer
    and a few other things.

and from what I have been told the ABS needs to be inspected/service every 10 years and is indicated when the ABS light stays on. I would be taking it to a land rover specialist we a diagnostic computer and get them to reset the ABS fault, then see what happens.

Wouldn't have thought it was because of a flat battery

The ABS sensors are prone to 'pop off' every now and then.
All 4 are individual units that are easily removed / re-inserted at the hub.
Maybe crawl underneath and give them a wiggle....

    (works for me)

Does the ETC lamp come into play? Coupled with TRACTION FAILURE message this would comprehensively indicate a sensor problem.

If no good then yes it could require proper diagnosis.
Something to do with the accumulator perhaps.

And no, flat battery story doesn't compute. Possibly co-incidence.

The ABS should not come up due to low battery, but SRS will light up with low battery voltage fault.

    Hi All
This P38 is in Tassie and on Ebay. If the ABS unit is faulty what would be the costs in having it fixed.

Wouldn't be able to tell you whats wrong until it gets plugged in and faults are read. Without knowing the fault you can't quote on the fix. Could be $10 could be $8000
