Lightbulb Bloody LUCAS, the king of darkness

About a week a go i was driving along and noticed that the Volt meter had dropped to zero, I turned the ignition off and the Volts went went up again. When i turned the ignition back on again, white smoke started spewing out from the dash (Time to pull over me thinks!)
I managed to pull the Very hot wire off the fuse box, and was able to get back home. Once back home I took the Instrument panel off and try and make some sense of the birdnest of wire, and find the short.

After doing a bit of tinkering around behind the dash I decided to bite the bullet, re-wire the whole lot and build a new panel out of checker plate.

A week later and here is the finished (well nearly finished) product.

Just a few more lights, and auxilary switches to go in. All the fuses have been replaced with circuit breakers, each system having its own circuit.

I will post more pics once i put it back in the Landy!

    Nice one Paul. Looks good.
There is a place for checker plate, in a Series Landy, besides on the floor.

Ha, there is a place for checker plate everywhere on a landy.... But i think a steering wheel would be a bit of an engineering task
