The attached image from the Rave CD shows how to separate the front and back components of the instrument panel.
1. Detach plug from printed circuit (2) in figure. This powers the lights above the instruments.
2. Depress the clips indicated by (3) and (4).
The two halves should separate with minimal pressure.
(I also had to pull off the knob on the trip reset)
I've just fitted the LED for the Engine Saver in my V8 Disco 1. Since the car has an alarm warning light in the centre bottom of the panel, (where another forum member installed his) I have instead used the glowplug warning light position. The bulb can be removed from the holder, the contacts removed and then the holder drilled so that the LED is an interference fit (without the bezel). The LED can then be installed in the same way as the original lamp. I didn't use the "low coolant" sticker - I think I'll be able to work out what it means when the "glow plug" warning light comes on ;>)
No idea how to get to the odometer - I didn't get that far.
I did get that far. Blew some of the fine dust off of the instruments and replaced some illumination bulbs. Didn't know it was in the RAVE CD though.Quote:

I fitted the lamp in the RH lower switch location. The blank just pulls out & you do your business.
The dash comes apart quite easily for access for light bulb replacement.
