    Diesel timing light adaptor

A while back I posted about a fandangle doovamahicky that lets you use a normal car timing light on a mechanically injected diesel.

    Ferret 765 Diesel Timing Adaptor
    6.0mmPU
    V765-03

thats the items details on the box...

thats the piezo clamp, polish up a bit of the injector line and clamp it on.

Thats the rest of it, attach the alligator clip to another polished part of the injector line about 2 inches away and the little spade goes on the piezo clamp.

turn it on, hook your ignition timer to the little loop of insulated wire on the box instead of the spark plug line and hey presto Diesel timing light.

the first hit I get when I google for a diesel timing light adaptor.

Could this be used to correctly calibrate an RPM gauge (VDO) which is hooked up to the alternator?.

if you have a tacho that reads the pulse from a spark plug to get its triggering yes...

We have such a beastie at work as the unimog tachos are not accurate enough for tuning reasons, swing by if your within range and I can do it at lunch time
