Its an easy job once the engine is separated from the gearbox.
I agree that its easier to take the engine out.
BUT you can only replace the front shaft seal and the pump gasket from the front.
I appears that you can get the front plate off but you cannot, because it fouls on a gear/synchro ring.
So do not buy a full seal kit, just a front seal and pump gasket. Check the pump while apart as if someone has put EP90 in at some stage , the shaft may/will be broken.
BTW its not urgent as the input shaft has a cunning little screw which makes and oil coming forward on the shaft , go backwards, and then down a drain to the bottom of the bellhousing and not into the clutch.
Big job for little leak.

hi I have a RRC so this bit might not be the same as a county but here goes:
If you remove the LT95, (I just done one) brace/tie up the engine as it can fall back or forward when you remove the gearbox.
This will not do your radiator any good ;) I removed the radiator and fan as a precaution and it fell backwards.
I managed to remove the box out of the passenger door with one of those $200 hoists. It's worth buying one as they are about $40 a day to hire.
With the hoist it can be done easily with one person. It's not so much a hard job just a long job. I would guess if you were to hire a hoist you would need it for two days minimum. To remove the box replace the seals etc then put it back in one day for a non-mechanic, (ie working from the manual like me) would be a tall order.
One thing to note in my workshop manual it says you should drain the oils from the TC and box before removal. I did but I still can't figure out why it says you should. Next time I won't bother.

I am overwhelmed by all the offers of help, what a great bunch of people. Thanks to everyone. I went to supercheap but of course the $200 engine hoists are now $299 and trade tools has them for $265. Both out of my price range. Blknight.aus very generous offer pm sent. Redrover3 also very generous offer and looking like I might go this way if I cant find a cheapy crane in the next week or so.
