drop the tcase into nuetral, picj forwards or reverse on the main box and then see what happens when you try to shift the tcase into gear.

if your getting no horrid crashing noise (either gear) then odds are its something to do with the first planetary set...

if youve got a set of pressure gauges (or access to them) plumb them into the primary pressure circut and see what you get...

If youre lucky its just a dump valve stuck open...

unfirtunately any repair on the auto will be exxcy as theres very little you can do without pulling it totally apart..

Sorry to be the harbringer of bad news..

one last thing, Try, with the engine running, rolling it down a hill to about 20kph then dropping it into drive. see if it keeps going.

I'll bag the auto when its appropriate... (which lets face it is most of the time but...)

when its a students primary means of transportation and he may not have the $$$ to fix it thats not the time... ditto a pregnant mum,

however when it turns out that the selector cable has come off..
Then hes gunna cop the nine yards on the grey box of evil....

and no the land in the center of the earth is too good for them..

Im going to wind up there and I want them nowhere near the place... Everyone else reckons their angelic and god like in off road prowess they can go uptop...

and lets face it the majority always condems the minority to the bad place so I'll be happy in hell with manuals and landies the rest of you can have heaven with autos and toyotas...
