Is it lifted?
If so taking the castor correction out will make the steering lighter & it'll wander more.
But I doubt it'll change the pinion angle enough to cure the vibrations. Possible I suppose.

As Max says, ANY lift on almost all Td5 Defenders resul;ts in a tailshaft vibe, and a D2 shaft will cure it. Slotting swivels above a 2" lift is also very recommended. As an aside, a castor bush correction will make the vibe worse, not better, as you are tilting the diff nose down, and the angle is even more extreme. Might make it handle well, but the shaft doesen't like it. I am firmly convinced that the 99 on defenders had different chassis jigging and therefore steering geometry, or the Td5 and R380 is on a different angle to the Tdi, as this problem is most evident in these models, not so the Tdi equipped vehicles.

Max, your right it will change the steering again but it may be a compromise to try and alleviate some of the vibration. Once this is done it will be a matter of seeking what steps to take. Need to do this first to see what difference it will make. Will keep informed once castor is taken out. Once again thanks everyone for your advice. Thats what I like about this sight, It is incredibly informative. Thanks
