    Vibration

    G'day Everyone

Have a 05 TD5 Defender 110, have had OME LTR shocks and OME springs fitted and Castor kit. This has been on the car for some time and I have lived with the vibration. Vibration comes in at around 65 to 70 kmh then goes away or is not noticiable.

Do any TD5 Defender owners have similar problems and has anyone been able to sort this out.

Just curious, but why change to OME on a brand spankers??
I've been running stock, except for Kings front springs since new on an '03 with no probs at all. Just about to fit Dobinson shocks, but only 'cause the OEM's are stuffed.

    Cheers

The new springs have given it a lift haven't they? That's why the castor correction kit in presumably.

If its lifted & vibrating, odds on your front propshaft unis aren't happy. There are a heap of threads about this on here, Outer Limits, etc etc.

The castor correction bushes won't last long, so you'll need a permanent solution. Search on slotted hubs, cranked radius arms, & d/c shafts.

FWIW I run slotted hubs plus a d/c shaft out of a D2. Completely cures the front end geometry issues, and vibration is also cured. Now, if only the D2 shafts lasted longer...

Is the defender auto or manual, the reason I ask is that Iwas told not to use a caster kit on an autobecause it causes vibrations.

Yep like max said have ya front shaft sorted and you should rid of the vibe also offset the phaseing of the unis and it will help sum more to tho you will have to pull the shaft apart to do this but its worth it
